Our client came to us recently looking to remake her mother’s engagement ring into something new and different, that she could wear every day. Her mother had recently handed down the original ring to her daughter.
The client loved the ring, but wanted to make it her own and reset it so that it wouldn’t look particularly like an engagement ring. She wanted it to be an interesting design, but still something that she could wear every day. The original ring was a 6-prong solitaire, set in yellow gold.
The client absolutely loved the look of art deco jewelry and wanted her new ring that same look. We thought it would be nice to add a halo to the ring to make it more substantial and thought that baguettes would give it a geometric look. We also decided to add some color to make it look a little less like an engagement ring, and thought that a pop of sapphire would look really beautiful!
We made a few different designs with CAD. One had diamond baguette stones in each corner, and some smaller channel set sapphire baguettes, and another had long sapphire baguettes along each side and round diamonds in each corner. We ultimately decided that the round diamonds in each corner would compliment the round center stone nicely.
We had the sapphire baguette stones custom cut to fit perfectly around her stone, and offset the design to make it more unique. The final result is absolutely stunning and perfect for everyday.
