Our client came to us looking to remake her engagement ring and wedding band that had been given to her by her late husband. It was so meaningful to her but she wanted to remake it so that it wouldn’t look so much like a wedding set and would have an entirely different feel.
Rather than being two separate rings, she wanted to combine the two and create one big ring. When she came in to meet with us, she saw a ring in the store that had a beautiful chunky gold look and she LOVED the style. She also had big diamonds so the new ring would need to be sizable.
After we sent her ideas and got a good idea of what she was looking for, we created a mock-up of a square shaped design and moved forward with a mold. Although she wanted a powerful, diamond-filled ring, when we sent the client the mold, it was a little bigger than she had anticipated. We removed one of the ‘steps’ in the design to bring it down a notch.
The side stones from her original ring were pretty big and didn’t fit into the new design, so we ultimately decided to make some stud earrings with them. We were able to use all of her other stones.
Everything turned out stunning and definitely had less of the wedding set feel to it. We were mesmerized by this ring and couldn’t stop bringing it out of the safe to show people. It was such beautiful and meaningful transformation for a truly lovely client.
