Engagement rings are meant to symbolize a lifelong commitment, but that doesn’t mean that they have to stay the same forever. After 45 joyous years of marriage, our client came to us looking to upgrade and refresh her original engagement ring. The ring was a simple emerald cut solitaire, set in 14K white gold. The original diamond was just under a carat, a high quality stone and most importantly, meaningful to her, so she wanted to be sure to keep the original diamond as the focal point in the new design.
After 45 years, our client specifically wanted her new ring be more significant but still understated and easy-to-wear everyday.  Our solution was to add carat weight to the side of the emerald cut with six additional baguettes.  The CADs below show some of the images that we put together using actual measurements of her center stone.
Our client specifically requested a ring with an Art Deco feel.  The bezel settings were a great way to incorporate this style while also being practical for daily wear. The style got its name after the 1925 Expo of Modern Industrial & Decorative Arts, in Paris. This was a very fresh and modern look which tended to consist of geometric shapes in symmetrical patterns. To bring our vision to life, we brought in .90 carats of beautiful baguette diamonds. The clean lines that these diamonds have created that sharp geometric look the client wanted. We worked with her to create a unique design that transformed her original ring into a stylish piece with elements of the art deco style she adored. We had the ring set in platinum to keep the bright look and compliment the clarity of the diamonds. The final product revealed an amazing addition to an already amazing piece.
